Order Bill of Lading (Order BOL) in X Mobile
This guide covers the usage of the Order Bill of Lading (BOL) function in X Dispatch and X Mobile.
The purpose of the Order Bill of Lading (Order BOL from hereon) is to allow orders to be combined into a single unit that can then receive one update to mark all orders within the BOL with a certain order status. An example situation would be when you have a skid of multiple orders that are being delivered to the same location. While there may be multiple orders involved, they would all be considered as "delivered" at the same time when you mark one of the orders as "delivered", so that you will not have to go into each individual order and POD them, which can take awhile when a significant number of orders are involved.
The creation of a Order BOL can be done from both X Dispatch and X Mobile. However, the updating of an Order BOL can only be done from X Mobile. Updating an order that is part of an Order BOL from within X Dispatch will not propagate the update to the other orders.
Create an Order BOL within X Dispatch
- Find two or more orders that you want to be part of a single Order BOL
- Within each order, go to the Parcels tab, and enter in a unique name in the "Order BOL" field. In my example, I have chosen to use the name "TESTBOL123".
Ensure that the same driver is attached to each order
Save and close each order after making the appropriate changes.
The driver will then need to open X Mobile, and after the driver's device updates itself with information from your X Dispatch installation, you will need to go to the BOL Manifest section.
The Order BOL we have created will now be listed. Select the entry Order BOL to proceed.
Information about the orders and route stops contained within this Order BOL will be listed. Select Next to proceed.
From here you have multiple options to select. You can select Next Action to mark the Order BOL as picked up or delivered, you can add parcels to the Order BOL, you can associate additional orders into this Order BOL or you can clear out the BOL and break apart the orders so that they will be treated separately again.
