Order Type - Business Line
The Business Line on an order type is the delivery service being performed which affects the time window for the pickup and delivery of an order.
On Demand
The “On Demand” business line provides Pickup within and Delivery within settings, and toward the bottom of the form, Adjust DELIVERY deadline and Adjust PICKUP deadline settings.
The value for Pickup within is the time (in hours and minutes) that a driver will have to pick up the order before it is considered late, based on the Ready From time in the order.
The value for Deliver within is the time (in hours and minutes) that a driver will have to deliver the order before it is considered late, based on the Ready From time in the order.
The delivery and pickup deadlines can be adjusted to allow more time for long trips by using the Adjust DELIVERY deadline or Adjust PICKUP deadline section at the bottom of the form (see example below).
Example
A driver would be given an extra minute for every mile over 30 miles before the order would be considered late.
Scheduled and Distribution
“Scheduled” or “Distribution” business lines provide a Ready by and Deliver by settings which is for the time (in military time) that the order will be ready, or needs to be delivered by.
Example
An order would be ready by 10 am, and would need to be delivered by 5 pm, the same day.
Freight, Line Haul, and Air
“Freight”, “Line Haul”, and “Air” will disable the Ready by and Devlier by setting. Orders using an order type with one of these business lines will not automatically calculate time windows.
