The Planning section of X Dispatch is the starting point for setting up and planning for all of your routes. This is where static route information, also known as the route shell, is created and maintained. The Planning section can be split up into 3 sections.
To view the Planning section, go to X Route > Planning.
Routes List
The Routes List section is used to organize static routes and stops. Group folders, routes, and stops are organized in a tree display alphabetically.
Quick Tip
Use the Show All checkbox at the top to display any disabled routes.
Routes
Routes are used to organize stops.
How to Create a New Route
Right-click in the route list section and select New > Route or click the New button in the toolbar.
How to Open or Edit a Route
- Highlight the route.
- Double-click the route, or right-click and select Open > Route.
How to Disable a Route
- Highlight the route.
- Right-click and select Disable.
How to Enable a Route
You must have Show All checked.
- Highlight the route.
- Right-click and select Enable.
How to Plot a Route in Microsoft Bing
When plotting with Microsoft Bing, there can be no more than 15 stops and there is a char limit of 1884.
- Highlight the route.
- Right-click and select Plot in Microsoft Bing.
How to Adjust a Route's Route Stop Time Windows
- Highlight the route.
- Right-click and select Adjust time Windows.
Click Adjust Stop Times.
Enter the adjusted stop times in Minutes and/or Day Offset, then click Adjust Times.

Positive numbers push to the future, negative numbers adjust back.

How to Print a Route Manifest
- Highlight the route.
- Right-click and select Print Manifest.
- Click the Print button.

Disable | Disable the route. Disabling a route does not disable or deactivate associated contract stops. The route shell will be deactivated and all contract stops will be moved to unassigned. |
Enable | You must have Show All checked and only visible when the route is disabled. Reenable the disabled route. |

Group Folders
Group folders are manually created to organize routes. It can be helpful to group routes geographically, by fleet, or customer.
Quick Tip
Organizing routes into group folders can optimize the load times when in the Planning section.
How to Create New Group Folder
Right-click in the routes list section and select New > Group Folder.
"Unassigned" or a route cannot be highlighted.
Drag and drop routes into the group folder.
Quick Tip
Click the refresh button to sort group folders in ascending order (numerical, followed by alphabetical).
How to Rename a Group Folder
- Highlight the group folder.
- Right-click and select Rename, use the F2 key, or click the group folder name.
How to Add a Route to a Group Folder
Drag and drop the existing route into the group folder.
How to Delete a Group Folder
This will not delete the routes in the folder. Routes will move to the root.
- Highlight the group folder.
- Right-click and select Delete.
How to Plot a Group Folder's Routes in Microsoft Bing
- Highlight the group folder.
- Right-click and select Plot in Microsoft Bing.

Route Stops List
The Route Stops List section is used to organize static (preplanned) stops. Double click on a stop (or choose "Open" from "Right Click Menu") to show detailed stop information.
Highlight Colors
Sequence Number
Dark Blue - The stop is marked as a global load stop for the route.
Light Green - The stop is marked as a customer load stop.
Cyan - The stop is marked as a global return stop for the route.
Dark Green - The stop is marked as a customer return stop.
Requires X Dispatch 21.0 or newer.
Preferred Time
- Red - The first stop out of sequence based on the preferred time. Stop sequence can be corrected manually by dragging and dropping stops into the correct sequence or by right-clicking and selecting Auto sequence by Preferred Time.

Mark As "Load Stop" For Route | Marks stop as either global or customer load stop. A stop can only be in one status at a time. For example, if the stop is a return stop and is marked as a load stop, the return stop setting will be automatically removed. |
Remove as "Load Stop for Route" | Remove the load status from the stop. |
Mark as "Return Stop" For Route | Marks stop as either global or customer return stop. A stop can only be in one status at a time. For example, if the stop is a load stop and is marked as a return stop, the load stop setting is automatically removed. |

Find Stops List
The Find Stops List section is used to find stops within a specified proximity of other stops based upon distance radius, postal code, or city and state. This is useful for assigning unassigned stop(s) by finding routes with stops close to the unassigned stop(s).
How to Find a Stop
Related stops appear in the Find Stops List section and also are highlighted in the Route List section.
- Select a stop from the Route Stops List or Route List section.
- Enter data depending on how you would like to find related stops.
- Stop ID and Radius
- Zip
- City and State
- Click the associated Find button.
