How to Create a New Route Sort Rule
Go to X Route > Route Sort Rules and click the New button in the toolbar.
Alternative: You can also click the arrow down next to the New button on the toolbar and select Route Sort Rule.
Enter a unique Rule Number.
Enter a Description.
Select the days and times you want the rule to be in effect.
Enter the applicable number in Lookup Column for your route zone. This lookup number corresponds to the value configured in Maintenance > Zones. See Setting Up the Route Zone. It cannot be greater than 255.
Optional: Select an Override Route if you would like every order using a route sort rule during the day and time selected in the previous step to be put on a specific route. The lookup column is ignored when an override is specified.
Example
You have an order type that you would like to be put on the CXTROUTE route every day from 7 am to 5 pm.
Enter a Postdate Offset if needed. The default 0 means that there are no offsets and the orders will be placed on routes for today.
Example
If you want orders for an order type created today to be placed on routes tomorrow, you would enter 1 in the "Postdate Offset" column.
Select whether the PickupTime will use the "From" (Pickup From) time or "To" (Pickup To) time in the order.
The default is set to the "To" time.
Select whether the DeliveryTime will use the "From" (Delivery From) time or "To" (Delivery To) time in the order.
The default is set to the "To" time.
Repeat steps 4 through 9 as needed.
Multiple Configuration Example
Orders between 8am and 12pm will use Lookup Column 1 and orders between 12:01pm and 5pm will use Lookup Column 2.
Setting Up the Route Zone
Go to Maintenance > Zones.
Find the zone you would like to use, scroll over to the far right, and click the grey box in the RouteZones column.
Use the "Look For" and "Search Under" fields to search the zones table.
Enter a number the Lookup Column. Lookup Column value cannot be greater than 255.
Select the Route ID.
Example
Using the image above, when Lookup Column is 1, the order will be placed on ROUTE1. When Lookup Column is 2, the order will be placed on ROUTE2.
If a Lookup Column is entered with a blank Route ID, the order will be placed on the Unassigned Route.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 as needed.
- Click the OK button.
Setting Up the Order Type
- Go to Maintenance > Order Types.
- Select the order type you would like to use for the route sort rule by double-clicking on it.
Select the route sort rule in the "Auto assign pickup to route by rule" or "Auto assign delivery to route by rule". "Send to dispatch" must be unchecked if you want orders to go directly to driver's route via Nextstop and not show up on the on demand dispatch board.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 as needed.
How to Edit a Route Sort Rule
- Go to X Route > Route Sort Rules.
- Double click on the route sort rule you would like to edit.
