Please visit the following link if you have more questions about Background GPS Collection in the Driver App.

When your device is set to battery optimization mode, it may not allow full functionality of the CXT Driver App. Please follow the steps below depending on the device type to disable battery optimization.

Due to the setup on your device you may experience one of the following issues.

  • Mapping applications may not open in the foreground after clicking the address in the Driver App, and may or may not open in the background.

  • The Phone/Dialer application may not open in the foreground after clicking the phone number in our app, and may or may not open in the background.

  • Lists may not scroll, or could “jump” unexpectedly.

  • The Driver App may open on top of other applications continuously.

  • Background applications may not work as expected.

  • Notification alerts may not always play as expected.

  • Scanning barcodes may not always work the first time around. Multiple scans may be required to capture a “good” scan.

Android

In early 2022, Android (and various other phone manufacturers) began updating their devices to prioritize battery optimization even if it meant that basic functionality within current apps may no longer work as expected. Every time a user downloads a new app or updates an app, Android is automatically enabling (or reenabling) their new “Battery Optimization” feature. CXT Software is unable to control or alter any phone settings outside of the CXT Driver App.

To ensure that you are able to enjoy the full functionality of the CXT Driver App and all its features, it is important that you disable "android battery optimization".
