Enable Folder Redirection on a Mac

You can configure the Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) client on your Mac to access your local hard drive and enable you to upload and download files as needed.

  1. Right-click on the PC connection you would like and select Edit.

  2. Click the Folders tab.

  3. Check the Redirect folders checkbox, then click the + icon at the bottom left of the window to open the Mac Directory window.

  4. Select Desktop or Documents (or both), and click Open.

  5. Click Save to store the change and close the Edit window.

    You can now access your local hard drive, and upload or download files when needed.

  1. Highlight the hosted PC you would like.

  2. Click Edit to open the Edit Remote Desktop window.

  3. Click Redirection, and check the Enable Folder Redirection checkbox.

  4. Click the + icon at the bottom left of the window to open the Add Local Folder window.

  5. Use the Path dropdown to select Browse to open the Select directory window.

  6. Select Documents, and click Choose to return you to the Add Local Folder window.

  7. Click OK to view the Documents folder.

  8. Close the Edit window to return to the Microsoft Remote Desktop connection window.
