The Zones table has zip codes prepopulated for all of the 50 states. Canada and PR are also available upon request. Contact CXT Support for assistance. 

Some newer zip codes may not be loaded into the system. 


Field NameDescription
PostalZip/postal code.
From Postal PlusPlus 4 value of the zip/postal code.

To Postal Plus
DescriptionA description of the zip code. For the prepopulated zones it is the city.
RegionThe region on the zip code. For the prepopulated zones it is the state or province abbreviation.
DepotOptional. The selected depot for the zone. See Depots (Classic Operations App).
Rate Zone 1

The rate zone name to use when setting up zone to zone pairs on your rate charts.

Rate Zone 1 defaults to zip codes within your system and it can be used for all of your zip to zip pair ratings. 

If you make any modifications to Rate Zone 1 and need help getting it set back its original defaulted state, you will need to contact customer support and pay for custom work.

Rate Zone 2 - 12

The rate zone name to use when setting up zone to zone pairs on your rate charts.

Rate Zone 2 through 12 can be used to set up any special zoning areas for your zone to zone pricing. You can enter any rate zone name onto each postal code line item and the rate zone name can be used for as many postal codes as you want. 

Example

Rate Zone 2 can be color names and multiple postal codes can have the same color name to be grouped together for rating.

Zone Min 1 - 12The dollar value. Any order using an order type specifying the zone will not charge less than the amount entered here. 
Dispatch ZoneAssign dispatch zone of zone. Dispatch zones are used to filter orders to fleets other than the default fleet on the order type. This is based on the origin address on the order, and it is set up on the order type form under the Fleet Assignments tab. See Order Types (Classic Operations App).
LatLatitudinal coordinate for the zip code.
LonLongitudinal coordinate for the zip code.
CentroidLatCentral latitudinal point for the zip code.
CentroidLonCentral longitudinal point for the zip code.
AdvancedFromLatLatitudinal coordinate to start from. Using this column in conjunction with the other Advanced From and To columns will allow you to carve out 5-digit ZIP codes using Rectangular Polygons for more definable zones for use in Rating.
AdvancedFromLonLongitudinal coordinate to start from. Using this column in conjunction with the other Advanced From and To columns will allow you to carve out 5-digit ZIP codes using Rectangular Polygons for more definable zones for use in Rating.

Priority

The priority in which a location is chosen if it is within polygons in multiple zones.

RouteZones

The Lookup Column and Route ID setup for the zip code. 

Click in the column to see the Zones - Route Zones form.

Polygons

The GeoZone setup for the zone. See GeoZoning.

Polygons should not be added to zip codes. It could cause unexpected results.

How to Add a New Zone Record

An overlap in the plus 4 values may cause unexpected results.

  1. Go to MaintenanceZones.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the list of zones and add the new zone in the empty row. 

    Quick Tip

    Required fields:

    • Postal
    • From Postal Plus
    • To Postal Plus
    • Description
    • Region
    • Rate Zone 1 - This should be the same value as Postal.
  3. Click the save icon  in the toolbar.

How to Edit a Zone Record

  1. Go to MaintenanceZones.
  2. Edit the field(s) you would like to edit.
  3. Click the save icon  in the toolbar.

How to Delete a Zone Record

Deleting a zone record that is in use can cause rating issues.

  1. Go to MaintenanceZones.
  2. Select the zone you would like to delete by clicking on the grey box to the left of the Postal column, the row will be highlighted blue.
  3. Click the delete icon  in the toolbar or press the delete button.
  4. Click the save icon  in the toolbar.
