Visual Dispatch

Requires X Dispatch 21.0 or newer.

You must have the Visual Dispatch permission enabled. See Users (Classic Operations App).

The Visual Dispatch board is used to dispatch orders to drivers and monitor the driver's pickup and delivery activity. The Dispatch refresh interval setting in the Dispatch tab of Global Options.

Menu

From the menu, you can select Refresh to manually refresh the Visual Dispatch board or Clear Map to clear all the pins on the map.

The automatic refresh interval is based on the Dispatch refresh Interval set in the Global Options Dispatch tab.

Orders List

The orders list allows you to view information about orders at a glance. You can use the filters to display specific orders and click on specific column headers to sort the orders listed. See Visual Dispatch Orders Field Descriptions for more details.

Quick Tip: You can minimize and resize the orders list.

Order Pins

The map pins allow you to see the order location and the tracking ID.

Pin colors
  • Green - Pickup

  • Red - Delivery

How to Map Orders

Check the checkbox in the first column of the row for the order(s) you want to map, or click the map icon in the header row to map all orders. If all orders are mapped you can click the clear all pin to clear the order pins.

Order Cards

Order cards display detailed information about an order or a group of orders on the Visual Dispatch map. This is visible when hovering over or clicking the order pin.

To view an audit trail for driver interactions on the order click the audit icon in the top right of the order card.

Order Status

The Order Status displays the status information of an order which includes information such as timestamps for specific tasks, POD, signature, invoice numbers. See Order Status for more information on the field descriptions.

 

Assign to Driver

Assign an order to a driver.

Get Directions

Get directions from the Origin Address to the Destination Address on the order from Google.

Quick Filter

You can save often used filters by selecting the filter type and entering your criteria in the Filter field then clicking the + and enter a Name.

Drivers List

The drivers list allows you to view information about drivers at a glance. To view the drivers list, click the Drivers button in the orders list.

Driver Cards

The driver card view is the default view on the Visual Dispatch board. See Visual Dispatch Driver Field Descriptions for more information on the field descriptions.

Driver Pins

The driver pins allow you to see where drivers are with the driver ID and a vehicle icon. When hovering over the driver pin, the driver ID and name will be displayed, or click the driver pin to keep the information displayed.

How to Map Drivers

Drivers Card View

Click the Map All Drivers icon to map all the drivers in the drivers list. Click the Clear Driver Pins icon to clear the driver pins from the map.

Check the checkbox in the first column of the row for the order(s) you want to map, or check the map icon in the header row to map all orders.

Edit Driver

Available only in the card view.

Open the driver record to view/edit the driver.

Locate Driver

View the current location of the driver on the map.

View History

A calendar will be displayed to select the location history of the driver on the map.

View Orders

View orders assigned to the driver. See Visual Dispatch Driver Order Itinerary.

Check In/Out

Check the driver in/out.

Send Message

Send a message to the driver’s mobile device.

Map Orders

View active orders assigned to the driver on the map.

How to Customize the Orders List and/or Drivers List Table View

You can reorganize and hide columns in the order list.

  1. Click the action menu.

  2. Select Edit Order Columns or Edit Driver Columns.

  3. Drag columns in the Visible Columns to reorder and/or drag columns from the Visible Columns to the Hidden Columns to hide them.

Columns can be sorted by clicking on the column name.

How to Assign Orders

From the Orders List

Right-click the order you would like to dispatch and select Assign To Driver.

From the Map

To a Driver Pin

Drag an order from the orders list to a driver pin on the map.

To an Order Pin

Drag a driver from the drivers list to the order pin on the map.
