Customer Types
This page is for the Operations App. For the Classic Operations App please see Customer Types (Classic Operations App).
Customer types do not have any default values so that you can customize this for your business. Examples include "Legal", "Medical" or "Retail" and can be used to group together customers for custom reporting. See Find (BETA) for more information.
To get to the Customer Types section, go to Maintenance > Customer Types.
Field Name | Description |

Type | Description of customer type. |
ID | Read only. Unique numerical ID for customer type. |
How to Create a New Customer Type
Go to Maintenance > Customer Types.
Click the + button in the top right.
How to Edit a Customer Type
This will also update any customer record that uses this customer type.
Go to Maintenance > Customer Types.
Click the customer type you would like to edit or click the action menu at the end of the row and select Edit.
Quick Tip: You can open 2 edit forms by selecting the checkboxes of the customer types and clicking the edit pencil icon in the top right.
How to Delete a Customer Type
Go to Maintenance > Customer Types.
Check the checkbox of the customer type(s) you would like to delete.
Click the delete button in the top right.
Customer Types in the Classic Operations App
There is a Customer Type field in the customer record General tab. Use the drop down to select from your customer types.
User Permissions for Customer Types
Users need to have permission to be able to add or edit customer types.
Giving Customer Type User Permissions
Go to Maintenance > Users.
Click the user you would like to give permissions to or click the action menu at the end of the row and select Edit.
Search for “customer types” and check the box for Customer Types and/or Edit Customer Types.
Removing Customer Type Permissions
Follow the steps above to uncheck the boxes.
