How to Install and Execute the X Dispatch Maintenance Plan

Regular database maintenance is necessary for ensuring the most optimal performance of X Dispatch. CXT Software has made available an advanced find that installs an X Stream definition that will perform regular maintenance of your X Dispatch database. Installing this X Stream definition will cause a maintenance routine to run every Sunday at midnight, though this can be customized to fit whatever schedule you prefer.

Step-by-step guide

1. Open the Find function in X Dispatch.

2. Click on the Advanced Find Service button (it looks like a globe). 

   

3. Find the CXT – X Dispatch Maintenance Plan entry, then double click it to start the download. 

   

4. Click yes and OK to accept the download of the advanced find. 

   

5. Finish out the prompts. Close the Advanced Find Service, then open the Load Query Definition function (it looks like a hand going into a filing cabinet). 

   

6. Open the “Unassigned” group folder, then find the CXT – X Dispatch Maintenance Plan entry and double click it to load it. 

   

7. Click the Exec button. 

   

The maintenance plan is now installed as an X Stream definition, and by default will run every Sunday at midnight.

You can also change the schedule of this by opening the X Stream definition, then alter the schedule as you see fit.
