Connecting to the Cloud Through Microsoft Remote Desktop

Connecting to the Cloud environment without the use of the Cloud Client is not supported or recommended and does not negate operating system requirements. Alternative Remote Desktop Clients (RDP) are not supported by CXT Software and our Technical Support team will not provide assistance attempting to resolve problems with these applications.


Installation Instructions

For macOS

  1. Download Microsoft Remote Desktop client from the Mac App Store.
  2. Download the CXT Software .RDP file here:cxtsoftware_net_Farm01.rdp. 
  3. Open Microsoft Remote Desktop.

  4. Click  then Import from RDP file...

  5. Browse to the .RDP file, cxtsoftware_net_Farm01.rdp, downloaded in step 2.
  6. Click Import.

  7. Under Saved PCs, double click cxtsoftware_net_Farm01. 

  8. Enter your Username and Password. 

     

    Quick Tip

    Your username would be userid-instanceid@private.cxtsoftware.net and your password is your X Dispatch password.

  9. Click Continue.

Quick Tip

Add your username and password so that you do not have to enter it every time.

  1. Click the edit icon when hovering over cxtsoftware_net_Farm01. 

  2. Under User account, click the arrows to select Add User Account...

  3. Enter your Username and Password. 

  4. Click Add.
  5. Click Save.

For iOS

  1. Download Microsoft Remote Desktop client from the App Store.
  2. Open Microsoft Remote Desktop.

  3. Click the + at the top right. 

  4. Select Remote Resources.
  5. Enter https://rdsfarm.cxtsoftware.net for Email or URL.
  6. Click Done.
  7. Click Find Feed.
  8. Click Add User Account.

  9. Enter your Username and Password. 

    Quick Tip

    Your username would be userid-instanceid@private.cxtsoftware.net and your password is your X Dispatch password.

  10. Click Save. 
  11. Click Find Feed.

  12. Select Farm01. 

For Android, Chrome OS

Not all Chromebooks can use Microsoft RDP, as it needs to be installed via Google Play. Some of the older Chromebooks will not support this. To see if your Chromebook is capable please see: Chromebooks with Google Play


  1. Download Microsoft Remote Desktop client from the Google Play Store.
  2. Open Microsoft Remote Desktop.
  3. Accept the terms of agreements.
  4. Click the + at the top right.

  5. Select Remote Resource Feed. 

  6. Enter https://rdsfarm.cxtsoftware.net. 
  7. Click Next.
  8. Select Add Account.

  9. Enter your Username and Password.

  10. Click Save.
  11. Click Save.

  12. Select Farm01.
