Using Parcel Refrigeration Type Codes in the Driver App

Parcel Refrigeration Type Codes can be used to automatically add refrigeration types to parcels and/or parcel item scans as well as warn drivers of temperature sensitive items when the refrigeration enforcement is set to required with a scan match. This is done by using a code in the parcel or parcel item barcode.

Setting Up in the Operations App

Requires the following permissions:

  • Parcel Items

    • Edit Parcel Items

  • Parcel Refrigeration Type Codes

    • Edit Parcel Refrigeration Type Codes

  • Parcel Types

    • Edit Parcel Types

Enable Available Parcel Items for Customers

For each customer you would like to use parcel refrigeration type codes, you must enable Available Parcel Items in the Parcel Types tab of their customer record in the Classic Operations App. See https://cxtsoftware.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CXTsupport/pages/351666219.

Configure Parcel Types

  1. In the Operations App, go to Maintenance > Parcel Types.

  2. Select the parcel type you would like to configure or create a new one. See https://cxtsoftware.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CXTsupport/pages/2580644149.

  3. In the general tab, the following must be configured:

    • Mobile Display must be set to “Enabled” to be visible in the Driver App.

    • Parcel Refrigeration Type Enforcement select how you would like the refrigeration type enforced.

Add Parcel Refrigeration Type Codes

  1. In the Operations App, go to Maintenance > Parcel Refrigeration Type Codes. See .

  2. Click the + button in the top right to add a parcel refrigeration type code, or click the parcel refrigeration type code you would like to edit.

The Refrigeration Code must be nestled between two hyphens in the parcel/parcel item barcode.

Configure Parcel Items

  1. In the Operations App, go to Maintenance > Parcel Items.

  2. Select the parcel item, you would like to configure or create a new one. See .

  3. For Parcel Refrigeration Type Enforcement select how you would like the refrigeration type to be enforced.

Scanning in the Driver App

When scanning in a parcel type configured with a parcel type refrigeration code, the related parcel item(s) will be displayed.

Tap the + to manually add a parcel item or the camera icon to scan a parcel item barcode.

When the parcel item’s Parcel Refrigeration Type Enforcement is set to “Required with Parcel Match”, a pop up will be displayed if the refrigeration type does not match the parent parcel's refrigeration selection.
