Calculation method 1

Primary method on how distance between addresses is calculated.

Calculation method 2

Use Shortest Distance

When checked, Google will use the shortest distance instead of shortest time to calculate the distance between addresses regardless to street type or length of time to go through the streets.

Mile factor

Multiplier for distance calculations.

Example

If this is set to 1.5 and the calculated distance is 10, the distance displayed will be 15.

Round distance up at

The tenth of a mile when milage will be rounded up.

  • Always round down

  • .1

  • .3

  • .4

  • .5

  • .6

  • .7

  • .8

  • .9

  • Always round up

Coordinate Priority

The starting point used when calculating distances. Changing this value from “Standard” is not common. This is applied upon order creation, order distance recalculation and bulk order updating when the “Recalculate Distance” option is selected. It does not apply to order continuation.

  • Standard

  • North

  • East

  • South

  • West

Quick Tip: Choosing something other than “Standard” would make the origin and return distance the same. This could be helpful in urban areas where there are lots of one way streets.

Example

If “North” is selected, the northern most point will be used as the origin.

The distance used for a round trip order is equal to the distance used on the outward leg's first or original order. Any return order uses the same distance as the original order. For example: OrderID 125000.00 is 5 miles. A return order of 125000.01 is 5 miles, even if the distance calculation method would have returned something different.

When set to “North”, the northernmost address of the two address points on the order is used as the origin when calculating distance. This guarantees that distances is always the same in both directions. The system uses the Southernmost, Easternmost, and Westernmost address as origin when the corresponding selection is set.
