Field Name | Description |
---|---|
Item Break | Quantity for the item breakpoint that you would like to have a different rate applied. |
Rate | Rate for the item starting at the item breakpoint. |
Per | Per quantity of items that the rate will be applied to. |
Plus | Additional rate that can be added to the total calculated Item Break Rate. If a negative amount is entered it will be subtracted from the calculated amount. |
Minimum | Minimum rate for the item break. |
Cap | Maximum rate you will charge for the Item. |
Check "Always use next item break if less expensive" to use the rate of the next item break if it is less expensive.
How Does it Work?
X Dispatch takes the number and multiplies by the "Per" value. In a tiered rating situation, the rating calculation will not look at the previous rate, only the line specifying the rating for the applicable item break.
Example
In this example, from 5 to 10 pounds the rate is $0.50 per lb, once you get to 11 pounds it becomes $1.00 per lb.
5-10 $0.50 per lb | 11-15 $1.00 per lb |
---|---|
5 = $2.50 6 = $3.00 7 = $3.50 8 = $4.00 9 = $4.50 10 = $5.00 | 11 = $11.00 12 = $12.00 13 = $13.00 14 = $14.00 15 = $15.00 |
Example - "Plus" Column
In this example, from 0 to 10 pounds the rate is $1.00 per lb. Once you get to 11 pounds, it becomes $1.10 per lb for the additional lbs. However, since the item break process looks only at the line with it's applicable item break, the calculation would be 11 * $1.10 = $12.10. So, we need to enter "-1.00" into the "Plus" column to get the correct $11.10 per lb (offsetting the calculated value to correctly find the rate). This method is used when the tiered rating is intended to "build" on the previous item break rate.
0-10 $1.00 per lb | 11-20 $1.10 per lb without Plus | 11-20 $1.10 per lb Plus $-1.00 | |
1 = $1.00 2 = $2.00 3 = $3.00 4 = $4.00 5 = $5.00 6 = $6.00 7 = $7.00 8 = $8.00 9 = $9.00 10 =$10.00 | 11 = $12.10 12 = $13.20 13 = $14.30 14 = $15.40 15 = $16.50 16 = $17.60 17 = $18.70 18 = $19.80 19 = $20.90 20 = $22.00 | 11 = $11.10 12 = $12.20 13 = $13.30 14 = $14.40 15 = $15.50 16 = $16.60 17 = $17.70 18 = $18.80 19 = $19.90 20 = $21.00 |
