The On-Demand Dispatch board is used to dispatch orders to drivers and to monitor the driver's pickup and delivery activity. It consists of two summary grids:

Other important detail screens are:

  • Order Status: Double click on an order in the Active Orders grid. Displays information on the status of the order. See Order Status.
  • Driver Active Work: Double click on a driver in the Active Drivers grid. Displays the orders and routes currently assigned to the driver. See Driver Active Work

To get to the On-Demand Dispatch board, go to On DemandDispatch.

Quick Tip

Use the Home and End keys to highlight the first or last order/driver.


Active Orders Grid

Orders with a due date beyond 60 days prior to the current date will not appear on the active orders dispatch board. 

 To find all orders that have not been marked as complete, you must run the following Advanced Find...

The Active Orders grid is where orders are assigned to drivers and monitored.

Field NameDescription
Driver IDDriver ID of the driver assigned to the order. A blank DriverID means that there is no driver is assigned to the order.
Order ID

Order ID of the order.

A flag  will appear to the left of the order ID if "Set Dispatch Flag" is set on the comment field. See Orders.

The order ID will be highlighted magenta if it is a return or continuation order. Return and continuation orders are designated by a number with a decimal extension. For example, if a 3 part delivery's first order ID is "3456" then the two additional ID's for that are are "3456.01" and "3456.02".

Cust

Customer ID for the customer associated with the order. 

The customer ID is colored based on the Dispatch Priority setting on the Orders tab of the customer record.  

  • 0 - Black
  • 1 - Green
  • 2 - Blue
  • 3 - Magenta
  • 4 - Cyan
  • 5 through 10 - Red
CSR

The username of the user that entered the order or method of how the order was placed. 

Orders placed online through your website or API will be highlighted yellow

PriorityDispatch Priority setting on the Orders tab of the customer record.
P/U In

Time in minutes between the Pickup To time (pickup deadline) on the order and the current time. An "F" after the time displays for future orders.

Highlight Colors

  • Light Green - Driver has arrived at the Origin Address. No time will be displayed. 

  • Dark Green – Order is picked up. No minutes will be displayed.  

  • Yellow – Pickup deadline approaching. Based on the Pickup warning time set on order type for the order. 

  • Red – Pickup deadline past due. The number of minutes that have passed between the Pickup To and the current time is displayed.
  • Magenta – Future pickup. The number of minutes until the order's Pickup From time. 
  • Cyan  – Future pickup where the ready time is absolute time with no pickup window (the Pickup From and Pickup To time on the order is the same).
  • Blue - Depot scan. No time will be displayed.

Icons

  •  Unconfirmed Order - Displays if the driver has not confirmed the order after 5 minutes of being dispatched.  
  •  Rejected Order - Displays when the driver rejects the dispatched order.
Del In

Time in minutes between the Delivery To time (delivery deadline) on the order and the current time. An "F" after the time displays for future orders. 

Highlight Colors

  • Light Green - Driver has arrived at the Destination Address. No time will be displayed. 

  • Dark Green – Order has been delivered. No minutes will be displayed.

  • Yellow – Delivery deadline is approaching. Based on the Delivery warning time set on order type for the order.

The address will be in red if the address has not been validated.

Destination Address name on the order.

The address will be in red if the address has not been validated.

The address will be highlighted in green if the address is marked as the next stop for the driver assigned to the order.

The timestamp of when the driver arrived at the origin. 

AtDestination

The timestamp of when the driver arrived at the destination. 

PiecesNumber of pieces in the order.
WeightThe total weight of parcels/pieces in the order.
OrderTypeThe Order Type ID.
TypeDescription of the order type.
IsParent

If the order is the parent order of multiple orders.

  • 0 - Order has no return or continuation orders associated with it or is not a parent order.
  • 1 - Order has return or continuation orders associated with it and is the parent order.

Example

The first order in a 2 part delivery order, order ID 3456, is the parent and will have the value of "1" and the additional order, order ID 3456.01, will have the value of "0".

AIDispatch

A value of -1 indicates the order has been sent to the dispatch board.

NextStop

If the stop is marked as the next stop for the associated driver.

DriverPercentThe percentage value is used to calculate how much the driver will be paid. The Percent amount in the driver tab of the order form. 

LocalName 

Name of the customer associated with the order. 

The customer ID is colored based on the Dispatch Priority setting on the Orders tab of the customer record.  

  • 0 - Black
  • 1 - Green
  • 2 - Blue
  • 3 - Magenta
  • 4 - Cyan
  • 5 through 10 - Red
ServerTimeThe current server time.

  • 1 - Rejected or unconfirmed icon is displayed in the P/U In column.
AutoDispatchFlag

Deprecated field. 

Score

Deprecated field previously used for scoring jobs for a driver using XIAD. 

Pickup ETAEstimated time and date that the driver will arrive at the Origin address. If the order has been picked up it will have a value of "Completed".
Deliver ETAEstimated time and date that the driver will arrive at the Destination address. If the order has been picked up it will have a value of "Completed".
TotalParcels

Total number of parcels existing on the order.

Show OSD must be selected in the right-click menu for this field to be populated.

OverParcels

Total number of parcels indicated as "Overages" on the order (parcels not originally on the order as expected).

Short

Total number of parcels indicated as "Short" on the order (unscanned or undelivered parcels).

ExceptionsTotal number of parcels indicated as "Exceptions" on the order.
DepartureTimeThe time of the departing flight on the order.
DepartureAirlineThe name of the airline of the departure flight on the order.
DepartureFlightNumThe flight number of the departing flight on the order.
ArrivalTimeThe time of the arrival flight on the order.
ArrivalAirlineThe name of the airline of the arrival flight on the order.
ArrivalFlightNumThe flight number of the arrival flight on the order.
If the order has a dispatch flag set, a red flag icon  will be displayed.
AttachmentsThe number of attachments on the order.
DepotScan

Displays a "1" if a depot scan was performed on the order barcode. See Dispatch - Depot Scan

A depot scan on the order barcode requires X Route and will add a timestamp to the following order status fields Confirmed, Picked Up, and At Depot.

BOLOrder BOL on the order.
MasterBOLMaster BOL on the order.
FlightManifestIdConsolidation Manifest ID that the order is on. 
BatchThe batch group name of the order which can be set by selecting an order and right-clicking the order to select Add Batch... or pressing the [ key.
OrderCountThe number of pieces/parcels on the order.

Quick Tip

You can select more than 1 order by using CTRL + Click or Shift + Click keys on your keyboard and clicking on the gray box (first column on the left).

Rank Drivers (Num 7)

Rank driver to find drivers best suited for a selected order. See Driver Ranking Configuration.
Request Assisted Dispatch... (=)

Send the selected order to assisted dispatch route optimization to find the best driver to assign it to. See Assisted Dispatch

View Assisted Dispatch Results... (a)

Opens the Assisted Dispatch window to view the recommendations of the last request.

Enabled after a request for assisted dispatch on the order has been made.

Dispatch Driver... (Num 6)

Opens a form to dispatch or remove a driver from the order.

Edit Order... (Num 8)

Open the order form to edit the order.

Edit Order Notes... (')

Open the order form and selects the Notes tab
Edit Order User Fields... (u)Open the order form and selects the User Fields tab
Update Status

Update the status of the selected order(s) to 

  • Confirmed (Num 1)
  • Picked Up (Num 2)
  • Delivered (Num 3)

Edit Status... (Enter)

Open the Order Status form for the order.
Make Next Stop

Select which address of the order should be marked as the next stop for the driver.

  • Origin (Num 4)
  • Destination (Num 5)

Remove Driver... (CTRL + Delete)

Remove the driver from the order. The driver will receive a notification that the order has been deleted.
Find ParcelFind a parcel using parcel tracking information. If a parcel is found the order form will be displayed.
Check In/Out ParcelsNot available/Not functional.

Add to Batch ([)

Add to or create a new group of orders on the dispatch board. You can use the Look For and Search Under "Batch" to filter and display the batch. 

If the order is already associated with a batch this will override the original Batch value.

Example

You can batch together orders to "hold" them for a driver until he/she logs in.

Add to Consolidation ManifestAdd order to a consolidation manifest that can be printed and distributed to a delivery person.
Run Custom ProcedureAllows access to specific custom programs that may be available. This will be grayed out if you do not have any custom procedures. 

Re-send Message (Insert)

Resends order information to delivery personnel via X Mobile.  Feature only available for orders already sent via X Mobile.

Send Cancel Message (Delete)

Send a cancel message to the driver. 

This does not cancel the order or remove the driver from the order.  

Filter unassigned orders by fleets... (*)

Filter orders to show only unassigned orders for a selected fleet.
Toggle current/future orders (/)Filter orders to show only future orders. Future orders are configured to display based on the Dispatch show time on the order type of the order.
View Unassigned / Unconfirmed Only

Filter orders to show only unassigned and unconfirmed orders. You must refresh the dashboard after selecting or unselecting this option. 

Show OSDUpdates the TotalParcels, OverParcels, and Short columns to display data.
Show User DataAdd columns (UserData0 - UserData12) to the Active Orders grid to display the order User Fields.
Highlight After Dispatch

Where the highlight should be immediately after dispatch.

  • Top Row - The order at the top.
  • Last Dispatched Job - The order that was just dispatched.
Save Layout (Num 0)Saves the current layout. See Grid Layouts on the Dispatch Board.
Reset LayoutResets dispatch field layout. See Grid Layouts on the Dispatch Board.
Load Layouts...Load a layout previously saved using the "Save Layout" function. See Grid Layouts on the Dispatch Board.

Active Drivers Grid

The Active Drivers grid displays the same information as the route dispatch board. Order information is not included in this section. 

Field Name

Description

Driver

Driver ID. A warning icon  is displayed in front of a driver ID 5 minutes after an order is dispatched to a driver and the driver has not marked it confirmed.   

Vehicle Class (vehicle icon)

Displays an icon according to the class of the vehicle that is set in the driver record. The available icons are a bicycle, bobtail, car, motorcycle, pickup, scooter, or van. 

  • Red- Indicates at least one order has a service failure, either on the pickup or the delivery.

  • Yellow- Indicates at least one of the undelivered orders is approaching its deadline. 

  • Green- All undelivered orders are NOT late, or within 15 mins of being late. 

Direction (compass icon)

Displays the direction of travel if GPS is enabled on the driver's mobile device. 

RO

Status of last route optimization. See Route Optimization.

  • Green Checkmark - Driver has been optimized.

  • Yellow ! - Warnings such as no possible solution or the end/begin time being incompatible.

  • Red X - Cannot run optimization for the driver.

Bearing

The direction or course of motion determined by the GPS chip of the mobile device. Similar to "Direction" but the bearing is represented numerically from 0-360

Speed

This reports the speed of the driver through GPS report data collected from the mobile device. 

Nickname

Nickname from the "Nickname" field in the "General" tab of the driver's human resource record. See Human Resources - New / Edit Human Resource.

Vehicle

Vehicle description from the vehicle record associated with the driver's record. See Vehicles or Vehicles (Classic Operations App).

Count(On Demand) 

Number of active, uncompleted on demand orders assigned to the driver. 

Score

Displays a number from 0 to 3000.  This number is assigned when using the auto ranking feature. See Driver Ranking Configuration.

Piece Total

Total number of pieces to be picked up and delivered by the driver.

Weight Total

Total weight of parcels to be picked up and delivered by the driver.

VehicleID

Vehicle ID from the vehicle record associated with the driver's record. See Vehicles or Vehicles (Classic Operations App).

MinWeight

See Vehicles or Vehicles (Classic Operations App).

MaxWeight

See Vehicles or Vehicles (Classic Operations App).

Capacity

See Vehicles or Vehicles (Classic Operations App).

Parking

See Vehicles or Vehicles (Classic Operations App).

RelSpeed

See Vehicles or Vehicles (Classic Operations App).

HazmatClasses

Visible field, available for use through custom work only.

WorkerID

Human resource ID of the driver. This can be found in the driver record under "Human Resource". See Drivers or Drivers (Classic Operations App).

Performance

Performance score from the "Performance" field in the driver's record. See Drivers or Drivers (Classic Operations App).

HomeZip

Zip code for the driver's starting location set in the driver's record. See Drivers or Drivers (Classic Operations App).

FleetID

Fleet ID for the fleet associated with the driver.

FleetName

Fleet name for the fleet associated with the driver under "Fleet" in the driver's record. See Drivers or Drivers (Classic Operations App).

LastReportLat

Latitude coordinate of the last time the mobile device GPS communicated with the server.  

LastReportLon

Longitude coordinate of the last time the mobile device GPS communicated with the server.  

Previous Zip

Longitude Zip Code associated with the driver's previous location, prior to the Current Zip.

Previous Report

The last time either GPS was reported or an action caused the location to be updated (At Origin, At Destination, Completing a stop, etc.).

GPS Lat

GPS latitude point from the last GPS update reported from a driver.

GPS Lon

GPS longitude point from the last GPS update reported from a driver.

GPSReportZip

Zip code from the last GPS update reported from a driver when either an update is made to an order status or an order was updated

GPSReportZone

Zone from the order of the last GPS update from a driver when either an update is made to an order status or an order was updated

GPSReportTime

Time and date of the last GPS update from a driver.

  • Gray - The time is 10+ minutes in the past, and the LastMobileReport field is less than 5 minutes ago, or the GPS Report time is 5-10 minutes in the past and the LastMobileReport field is less than 5 minutes ago.

  • Red - The LastMobileReport field is older than 5 minutes AND GPSReportTime > 10 minutes old

  • Yellow - More than 5 minutes in the past, (will be gray in the situation above if the LastXTReport is within the last 5 minutes)

Quick Tip: The GPS will show as current as long as the driver’s GPS isn't turned off or the application closed out.

GPS Post

Displays a 1 if there was a GPS update from the driver.  

CurrentReportLat

Lattitude from the last action taken on any of the driver’s assigned orders/route stops. If the action is coming from the driver, the driver’s lattitude at the time of the action will be displayed. If the action is coming from an Operations user from inside of the application, the order or route stop location’s lattitude that is associated with the action will be displayed. For example, if the last action for any of the driver’s assignments came from a dispatcher marking an order as ‘Picked Up’, the pickup location’s lattitude would display.

CurrentReportLon

Longitude from the last action taken on any of the driver’s assigned orders/route stops. If the action is coming from the driver, the driver’s longitude at the time of the action will be displayed. If the action is coming from an Operations user from inside of the application, the order or route stop location’s longitude that is associated with the action will be displayed. For example, if the last action for any of the driver’s assignments came from a dispatcher marking an order as ‘Picked Up’, the pickup location’s longitude would display.

Current Zip

Zip code from the last action taken on any of the driver’s assigned orders/route stops. If the action is coming from the driver, the driver’s zip code at the time of the action will be displayed. Time and date from the last action taken on any of the driver’s assigned orders/route stops. This can come from either a driver or Operations App user such as a dispatcher.

NextLat

Latitude for driver's next stop. A 0 will be displayed if no "next stop" is selected.

NextLon

Longitude for driver's next stop. A 0 will be displayed if no "next stop" is selected. 

NextZip

Zip code for driver's next stop. A 0 will be displayed if no "next stop" is selected.  

NextZone

Zone for the driver's next pickup/delivery set on an on demand order. 

NextReportTime

Timestamp for when Operations App last synced with the mobile device to get next stop details.

FurthestLat

Furthest pickup/delivery location latitude for linking on demand orders from the current GPS location. Only updates if there has also been a GPS update within the last 3 minutes of updating an order. 

FurthestLon

Furthest pickup/delivery location longitude for linking on demand orders from the current GPS location. Only updates if there has also been a GPS update within the last 3 minutes of updating an order. 

FurthestZip

Furthest pickup/delivery location zip for linking on demand orders from the current GPS location. Only updates if there has also been a GPS update within the last 3 minutes of updating an order. 

FurthestZone

Furthest pickup/delivery location zone for linking on demand orders from the current GPS location. Only updates if there has also been a GPS update within the last 3 minutes of updating an order. 

Furthest Report

Furthest longitude point from a GPS coordinate reported by a driver. 

Status

  • Green - All orders assigned to driver are beyond the orders pickup/delivery warning settings on the corresponding order type

  • Yellow - An order assigned to the driver is between the required pickup/delivery time and its corresponding warning time, but not late

  • Red - An order assigned to the driver is late for pickup/delivery

Email

Driver's email from the "Primary Email" field on the driver's record. See Drivers or Drivers (Classic Operations App).

Name

Name from "Last Name" and "First Name" fields on the driver's human resource record. See Human Resources - New / Edit Human Resource.

Comments

This information is filled in automatically from "Default Comments" on the driver record (see Drivers or Drivers (Classic Operations App)) or is changed through the right-click menu selection "Edit Comments".  This is used to communicate to dispatchers any special situations regarding a driver.  

HR Ins Expires

Date the driver's human resource insurance expires. From the driver's human resource record "Expires" field of the "Insurance" section in the "Advanced" tab. See Human Resources - New / Edit Human Resource.

HR Lic Expires

Date the driver's license human resource expires. From the driver's human resource record "Expires" field of the "Drivers License" section in the "Advanced" tab. See Human Resources - New / Edit Human Resource.

Veh Ins Expires

Date the driver's vehicle insurance expires. From the driver's vehicle record "Expires" field of the "Insurance" section. See Vehicles or Vehicles (Classic Operations App).

Veh Registration Expires

Date the driver's vehicle license expires. From the driver's vehicle record "Expires" field of the "License" section. See Vehicles or Vehicles (Classic Operations App).

MobilePhone

Mobile phone number from the "Mobile" field in the "General" tab of the driver's human resource record. See Human Resources - New / Edit Human Resource.

PreferredEndTime

"Preferred End Time" from the "General" tab of the driver record. See Drivers or Drivers (Classic Operations App).

LastMobileReport

Time and date of the last time the mobile device communicated to the server, regardless of if GPS was collected. For example, this updates even if the GPS chip was broken on a mobile device.

MinIdle

Mins between no and the last update to an order status value.

CurrentXTVersion

The Driver App version of the driver's device.

Previous Report (Local)

The last time either GPS was reported or an action caused the location to be updated (At Origin, At Destination, Completing a stop, etc.).

GPSReportTimeLocal

Localized Timestamp of the last GPS update from a driver.

Current Report (Local)

Localized time and date from the last action taken on any of the driver’s assigned orders/route stops. This can come from either a driver or Operations App user such as a dispatcher.

NextReportTimeLocal

Localized Timestamp for when Operations App last synced with the mobile device to get next stop details.

Furthest Report (Local)

Localized Timestamp of furthest GPS report, reported by a driver.  

LastMobileReport (Local)

Localized Timestamp of the last time the mobile device communicated to the server, regardless of if GPS was collected.

GPSLocationError

Numeric code for the location error.

LastErrorGPS

Description of the location error.

Max Dim Weight

Maximum amount of dimensional weight that can be assigned to the vehicle (driver).

Dim Weight Total

Total dimensional weight assigned to the driver.

  • Red - Indicates that the weight has exceeded the vehicle's max dim weight.

Count(Routed)

Number of route stops on active routes assigned to the driver. 

AD

Displays whether the driver has the Assisted Dispatch permission enabled or disabled. See Assisted Dispatch.

Count(All)

Number of both on demand orders and route stops that are active and assigned to the driver.

NextStop

Name of the stop that is either marked as the next stop for the driver or is the next stop on the driver sequence. This will be blank if no stop is marked or if the driver is not checked in.

Description

Details... (Enter)

Opens the "Driver - Active Orders" grid. See Driver Active Work.

Edit Comments...

Updates driver comments column in drivers grid. Driver comments can be very helpful to provide additional information about a driver's status. 

Example

If a driver becomes unavailable, the ETA for the driver can be inserted.  In this way, if a dispatcher's shift ends the information is easily visible to the next dispatcher.

Edit Driver... (Num 8)

Opens the driver form. See Drivers or Drivers (Classic Operations App).

Position Driver... (P)

Positions driver within a postal code.  Useful if the driver is not using GPS enabled mobile devices.

Locate Driver... (L)

Displays map with an icon showing the location of driver.  Uses GPS data if available, last known location based on driver pickups or deliveries, or where the driver was positioned by the dispatcher using the "Position Driver" menu selection.

Send Text Message (M)

Sends a message to the driver's mobile device.

Quick Tip: Entering a URL in the message body will display as a clickable link in the Driver App 3.1.1 or newer.

Optimize Route

Optimize the driver's pickups and deliveries in the order the driver should perform them, and then send the sequence to the driver's mobile devices. See Route Optimization

Optimization Status

Displays the last time of optimization, status, and errors.

Filter active drivers by fleets... (*)

Opens fleet selection window from which fleets can be checked.  Drivers are displayed for selected fleets only. Dispatchers must be granted permissions to fleets before they can be selected.

Filter active drivers by zone...

Filters drivers based on zone and zone type.  Available zone types are "Current Zone", "GPS Zone", "Previous Zone", "Furthest Zone". 

Drivers without a zone will always appear.

Activate Driver... (Insert)

Activate drivers when they are ready to work.  After pressing "Insert" the driver appears in Drivers Grid.

Deactivate Driver (Delete)

Deactivates drivers when they are finished working.  After pressing "Delete" the driver is removed from Drivers Grid.

Logout Driver

Logout drivers from the mobile app.

Inactive Drivers...

Shows list of all deactivated drivers.  

Quick Tip: Activate a driver by double-clicking.

Save Layout (Num 0)

Saves the current layout. If adjustments are made to field sequence that needs to be saved, use this feature. When saving a layout the option exists to save orders/route grid, drivers grid, or both.  Layouts may also be saved as a custom grid for later retrieval.  This is the same "Save" function that exists in the Orders Grid. 

Quick Tip: Save grids to custom layout in case an undesirable change is made so that the "good" grid can be restored.

Reset Layout

Resets dispatch field layout to CXT Software standard layout. The Orders/Routes Grid, Drivers Grid, or both Grids can be reset. 

All dispatch specific changes will be lost.

Load Layouts

Restores a layout previously saved using "Save Layout" function.

Show/Hide Driver Fields

Adds or removes columns from the Drivers Grid.  Use "Save Layout" function after selecting fields to save changes.

Run Custom Procedure...

Allows access to specific custom programs that may be available.

Find Driver... (.)

Finds driver in orders grid by highlighting first order assigned to the driver.

Sync Dispatch Grid... (+)

A useful function to help dispatchers locate a drivers route in the "Active Orders"/"Active Routes" grid, by selecting this function from the "Active Drivers" grid. This is especially beneficial for delivery companies that have large dispatch environment with hundreds of orders and dozens of drivers.

Clear Next Stop

Clears "Next Stop" indicator for the driver if it was set using "Make Next Stop" feature noted above in Orders/Routes Grid.

Sort Fields

Sorts drivers based on up to five selectable sort fields.  Overrides default sort by driver number.

GPSLocationError

The numeric value associated with a location error code.  

Examples:

  • (0) Location unknown - The GPS chip is unresponsive.

  • (1) Location permission denied - Navigation/GPS Location Services is disabled on the mobile device for the Driver App.

LastError

Display text for the related GPSLocationError that was generated.
