Base Rate Chart Types - Weight
The "Weight" chart type uses zones and the weight table to calculate the rate.
The Min/Max/Plus value within weight rate chart tables is used when calculating rates when "Treat zones as distance" and "Always use next weight/pieces break if less expensive" are enabled.
How to Create a New Weight Base Rate Chart
Click the arrow next to the New button, or press the N key.
Click Rate Charts.
Select Base Rate.
Under Chart Type select "Weight".
Click on the Weight Table button.
Enter the weight ranges and click OK. See Weight Ranges below for more information.
Click Apply to save the rate chart and keep it open or click OK to save and close the rate chart.

Weight Ranges
The Weight Ranges tables allow you to configure weight breaks that will be based on the weight set up on the order. It is used with "Weight" chart types only. If there are multiple instances of a zone to zone pair with the same weight break, the highest of the two will be used.

Minimum | Optional. The lowest amount charged for the weight break. |
Plus | Optional. Additional dollar amount. If a negative amount is entered it will be subtracted from the calculated amount. |
Cap | Optional. Maximum amount charged for the weight break. |

Always use next weight break if less expensive | Always assess the lower price if the previous weight break is lower. |
Apply weight rating to SureRate | Allows you to add your weight rating when calculating the rate based on mileage from the general tab. |
Always use the whole rate | Allows you to charge the entire amount when your weight amount exceeds the previous grouping. ExampleAlways use the whole rate is enabled and you have a single line item with a Per of $10 for every grouping of 10 lbs, the rate chart would charge $10 for the 1st through 10th lbs, $20.00 for the 11th through 20th lbs, $30.00 for the 21st through 30th lbs, and so on. |
Treat zones as distance range | Changes captions from zone and zone2 to miles and weight break can be set up based on how many calculated miles are on the order. ExampleInstead of zone 1 to zone 10, you can use 1 to 10 miles. |

How Does it Work?
The Operations App will check if an order falls into one of the weight breaks listed. In a tiered rating situation, the rating calculation will not look at the previous rate, only the line specifying the rating for the applicable item break.
How to Add a Weight Break
Go to Maintenance > Rate Charts.
Click the '+' next to Base Rates.
Click the '+' next to the base rate group then double click chart you would like to add to.
Click on the Weight Table button. The Chart Type must be "Weight".
Enter the weight break.
Click the OK button to save.
How to Edit a Weight Break
Go to Maintenance > Rate Charts.
Click the '+' next to Base Rates.
Click the '+' next to the base rate group then double click chart you would like to edit a weight break.
Click on the Weight Table button.
Edit the weight range details.
Click the OK button to save.
How to Delete a Weight Break
Go to Maintenance > Rate Charts.
Click the '+' next to Base Rates.
Click the '+' next to the base rate group then double click chart you would like to delete a weight break.
Click on the Weight Table button.
Select the weight break you would like to delete by clicking on the box on the left, the row will highlight blue.
Press the Delete button on your keyboard.
Click the OK button to save.
Example
In this example, orders from zone 02114 to zone 02215 with a weight that is between 5 and 9 pounds rate at $1.00 per lb. Once the weight reaches 10 pounds, it will rate at $2.00 per lb.

However, if you have a Rate greater than 0 set in the Base Rate Details tab on the base rate chart with the same Zone1 and Zone2, the rate will change depending on the "Weight Break Use" selected.

Example Using *DEFAULT*
*DEFAULT* is a wild card to use any zones for the location(s) that have not been set up in the Weight Ranges grid.
In this example, orders from any zone to zone with a weight that is between 5 and 9 pounds rate at $1.00 per lb. Once the weight reaches 10 pounds, it will rate at $2.00 per lb.
