The Operations App will check if a route stop falls into one of the weight breaks listed. In a tiered rating situation, the rating calculation will not look at the previous rate, only the line specifying the rating for the applicable item break.

Example
In this example, route stops in zone 02215 with a weight that is between 5 and 9 pounds rate at $1.00 per lb. Once the weight reaches 10 pounds, it will rate at $2.00 per lb.
5-9 $1.00 per lb | 10-14 $2.00 per lb |
---|---|
5 = $5.00 6 = $6.00 7 = $7.00 8 = $8.00 9 = $9.00 | 10 = $20.00 11 = $22.00 12 = $24.00 13 = $26.00 14 = $28.00 |
However, if you have a Rate greater than 0 set in the Stamp Rate Details tab on the stamp rate chart with the same Zone, the rate will change depending on the "Weight Break Use" selected.
5-9 $1.00 per lbs with Base Rate $7.50 "Use maximum value..." | 5-9 $1.00 per lbs with Base Rate $7.50 "Use the combined values..." |
---|---|
5 = $7.50 6 = $7.50 7 = $7.50 8 = $8.00 9 = $9.00 | 5 = $12.50 6 = $13.50 7 = $14.50 8 = $15.50 9 = $16.50 |
Example Using *DEFAULT*
*DEFAULT* is a wild card to use any zones for the location(s) that have not been set up in the Weight Ranges grid.

5-9 $1.00 per lb | 10-14 $2.00 per lb |
---|---|
5 = $5.00 6 = $6.00 7 = $7.00 8 = $8.00 9 = $9.00 | 10 = $20.00 11 = $22.00 12 = $24.00 13 = $26.00 14 = $28.00 |
However, if you have a Rate greater than 0 set in the Stamp Rate Details tab on the stamp rate chart with the same zone, the rate will change depending on the "Weight Break Use" selected.
5-9 $1.00 per lb with Base Rate $7.50 "Use maximum value..." | 5-9 $1.00 per lb with Base Rate $10.00 "Use maximum value..." | 5-9 $1.00 per lb with Base Rate $7.50 "Use the combined values..." | 5-9 $1.00 per lb with Base Rate $10.00 "Use the combined values..." |
---|---|---|---|
5 = $7.50 6 = $7.50 7 = $7.50 8 = $8.00 9 = $9.00 | 5 = $10.00 6 = $10.00 7 = $10..00 8 = $10.00 9 = $10.00 | 5 = $12.50 6 = $13.50 7 = $14.50 8 = $15.50 9 = $16.50 | 5 = $15.00 6 = $16.00 7 = $17.00 8 = $18.00 9 = $19.00 |
